xbox games are not readable in PC DVD drives because they don't use UDF or ISO file systems. The Xbox drive has special firmware that allows it to read XBFS, the XBox File System. You need to get a mod chip and install an alternate BIOS and dashboard to backup xbox games.

I don't want to back up games actually... I want to play the games I have downloaded...

Before when I used windoze I used a program calles xfer or something to extract the iso files. and the I ftp'd the contents to my xbox... There must be a similar way to do this in linux?

That's not sad. I suppose it's both against TOS and IMO moral values

Linux is about producing free software. As in the GPL. The Linux community does not condone pirating software.

it's very sad that ethics tend to be confused with written laws. If anything is unethical in this business it's the copyrighting of information. There is a war going on between those who stand behind the laws put down by - most often - western major corporations, and those who pirate software/films/music. To portray one group as evil, and the other as good, all based on these laws without ever paying a thought to why matters are as they are, is really nothing but ignorance. I understand that LQ must follow certain rules, and for that reason I must agree with Karl: It's sad indeed.

Anyway; I hope I'm not breaking any of the precious laws when I mention the (very legal) linux software "extract-xiso", which is used for the purpose of extracting (your own backups) of xbox-iso-files.
