Extegrity 4.0
My school uses a Windows program called Extegrity 4.0 to administer exams on laptops. The program locks your system, except for its proprietary word processor and you can save to a floppy while you work. Has anyone had experience running this program with any of the windows emulators out there? It is a very small and simple program, but I need to be sure it is as close to 100% reliable as possible as I'll be taking exams on it. Thanks in advance.

Do you have this Extegrity program now? If so, grab wine ( www.winehq.com), compile it and see if it will run. **OR** you can get VMware ( www.vmware.com) and install windows inside of your linux. That is what I do for programs that will not work with wine. (My windows boots up faster in linux than it does on my other harddrive.)

I will do that when I get home. I guess the main part of the question is if something runs in Wine, is it as stable as it is under XP?

Well, I can't answer that question with 100% confidence, but I would assume that if you get it to run properly with Wine, that it will not crash at all... Theoretically, if you get something running under Wine just fine, it will actually run better than it would in XP becuase linux is MUCH better on processor and memory managment than windows is. Then again, it all comes down to whether it runs in wine or not. Let me know how it turns out.

Your help may turn out to be for naught. The software is updated each semester and the latest version won't be available for a few more months, so I have to wait to find out.
