Ext4 to mount microSDxc uhs-1

Computer Lenovo Y510p
Distro Mint17 cinnamon

I have MicroSDXC UHS1 64Gb card
I am getting 'Cant mount' message.
It seems Xt4 is required
Found plenty of techno babble but so far no download/install files.
Any thoughts?

XT4?

I assume the card is preformatted as exfat which you can not mount. You need to install exfat-fuse and exfat-utils.

If you do not need exfat compatibility than reformat with the desired filesystem.

I understood that exfatv is MS Win therefore not Linux compact.

The same thing can be said for NTFS, however ntfs-3g makes it possible to read and write

ext4 is a native linux filesystem so nothing to do.

sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse
sudo apt-get install exfat-utils

I assume that your card reader can handle 64G cards...

Since my last things have moved on somewhat. But trouble still dogs.

Mint has moved itself to 'Diana' the micro SD is 30 GB.

Formatted to 'Xfat at' default bits''
Machine 'sees'iit posts an icon on desk top
Opened it and created a number of folders.
Opened a doc with Libra.
Used 'save as' to direct it to drive

Got 'Cannot mount'

What did I miss?
