EXT3 deleted from windows can i undelete?


Hey guys,

I accidently deleted my ext3 partition when i was in windows.
i have:
- 2 harddrives
1: windows + linux
2: personal harddrive

i deleted the volume on the personal harddrive with ext3 volume on it.

How can i undelete / recover my files on the ext3 partition that i deleted from windows server 2008

Testdisk...

The standard program for recovering linux partition tables is Testdisk. If you thereby also change the partition table as it is read under Windows, you may find that Windows will not boot and you will have to repair its boot loader.

Testdisk is also included on partitioning and rescue live-cds such as PartedMagic. If the missing data on the disk is important to you, think about making a clone copy of the disk before you begin to do any work on it.

If you knew what the original partitions were then yes. Not sure if there is any automatic backup of that either.

I got it repaired with Acronis Disk Director... but now i have a superblock problem and i can't edit my fstab at this moment... i have the bash command line but when i do vi /etc/fstab then i don't get the usual mount file

Got it... i had a live cd/dvd of centos 5 edited fstab... thanks
