Export Files from Linux to Windows

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be doing a format of my Linux partitions pretty soon and I'd like to back up all my files on my Windows partition.

In the past I've used explore-2fs, but the last time I formatted, I choose to use logical volumes (I use FC3). Now when I use explore-2fs, I can't see the file systems that are within the logical volumes.

Does anyone know of some Windows software that will allow me to see these files or of some sort of setting I need to change to make this work?

I'd also take suggestions on how else I could back up these files without using CDs or DVDs.

Thanks in advance.

My favorite is a USB drive. And it's completely portable between operating systems if it's formatted with FAT32.

Although this is something I'd like to look into in the future, right now I don't have the money to invest in something like that. Plus I'm moving big files mostly (~700 MB) that probably wouldn't fit on a flash drive. Thanks for the suggestion though.

What about creating an intermediary fat32 partition, which you will delete/merge afterwards? If you have enough free space at the end of your Linux partition and considering it's going to be formatted anyways, you can create there a fat32 slice and use it for file transfer.

This is a great idea that I have used in the past before.

However, since FC2, they have added a feature to the filesystem that makes it impossible to resize the partitions after they've been created via other partitioning software (parted, Partition Magic, ...).

If anyone knows of softare that allows me to tinker with the partitions, please let me know.

Thanks for you reply.
