Experiencing BSOD in Linux
Hi Guys,
Can you believe it: no matter which browser I use (mozilla 1.4 or Konqueror on KDE 3.1.11) , whenever I load www.bbc.com/news, my system crashes and log me out to the blue sreen :d (incidentally the RedHat default for the login screen)
Any ideas whats happening here. The onlything that I can think of is that there is a java applet on the said page..
Thanks in advance...

Have you tried Galeon, Phoenix, or Opera (/me loves Galeon) If you have problems with those also, then maybe it is your JRE (Java Runtime Environment) You might want to verify that java IS your problem before doing the following steps. Browse to the site with java disabled in your browser or in a barebones browser like lynx or links. Also check if that site has some sort of embedded content like flash or a realplayer video. Sometimes those crash the X server and will cause you to be put back to a login prompt. (CNTRL ALT Backspace will do the same thing!) If java is indeed your problem, try the following.
Download the real JRE from the ppl that made java
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
and install it.
