Execute a terminal command using Autokey?

Can I execute a terminal command using Autokey?

How?

If this is related to your other thread concerning the microphone toggle (https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ey-4175654480/), I replied to that with instructions on how to connect the command to a key sequence.

As an aside, you appear to have created quite a number of threads on related topics. I would recommend that you try and keep all related topics on the same thread in future and only open a new one if a particular question has remained unanswered on your "mega-thread".

Yes, it's related. I did assign it to a keystroke just now so don't need to use Autokey, but I would like to know if and how to issue a Terminal Command in Autokey?

And this relates to my question here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...29#post5998429

I've just replied to the latter question too.

You could try Simple X Hot Key Daemon (sxhkd) to run terminal commands with keyboard shortcuts.

For example, on my machine, I have MOD+Enter to open my terminal.

your Desktop Environment most probably already provides hotkey functionality.
bind a key of your choice to a quick script that does what you want.
no need to use (bloated, windows-like) autokey at all.
