exe files?

is it possible to run an exe file (windows executable) in Linux? if so what program runs them? i double click on some of my windows .exe files (the documentation says they should be able to work in both OS types) and Mandy gives me a dialog asking for what i want to use to run the program. any thoughts?

Get Wine. ( http://www.winehq.org/ ) I think they have Mandrake RPMs. Download them, and run the .exe's with Wine.

For games, use CVS WineX ( http://www.transgaming.com/ ) Follow the instructions on downloading. Compile CVS WineX. (with help from http://www.frankscorner.org/ ) Spend hours getting it working with help from LQ. Run the .exe's with WineX.
