Exchanging hardware - need to re-install drivers?

I plan to change my GPU to a better one from the same brand, will I need to remove the NVIDIA drivers, remove my current card, place the new one and re-install the drivers or it's not needed?

Hi,

in general you do not need to remove graphics drivers for hardware that is not being used.

Hi,

I see now I may have missed the point. What are two video cards in question, and what drivers are you using?

My current card is GF 9800GT. I'll probably buy one of the newest NVIDIA cards.
