Evolution Slow Getting Messages
I have fetchmail getting my mail from a bunch of places and then evolution using local delivery to view them mail, what I can't understand is why Evolution takes so incredibly long to get messages from my local mail spool? Is this normal behavior for everyone? or am I just special?

I do not have a solution but I found this to be the case as well. This will likely incite a flamewar; but my experience was that Evolution shared the slow speed of Outlook along with many of the features.

You clearly are not using the groupware features since you are pulling from a local spool rather than connecting to a central IMAP server. I would recommend moving to a lighter weight program, for example you could try Thunderbird or KMail (I use KMail myself). If you need a calender there are numerous standalone applications for linux to server this function.

You're right. I went to evolution originally because I had thought to connect with groupware... however that never worked out. If evoution is the problem then I will have to change. Thanks.
