I'm having an issue with Evolution where, when I send an email, evolution will place the email into my outbox. I have no idea what is causing it to do this.
I am using Evolution 2.24 on Mandriva 2009. I use Linux as my workstation at my workplace and I use Evolution was an alternative to Outlook. I would use thunderbird but, our exchange server does not support anything but exchange so I am forced to use Evolution.
Basicly what is happening is when I compose an email, evolution send it straight to my outbox. But what is strange about it is, it's not my work place email outbox, its my computers email outbox. Something doesn't seem to be configured correctly but, I have gotten evolution to work fine on openSuse before so, I don't know what the heck went wrong.
I have a stack of mail, that I wish somebody would put into my outbox too. How did you get it to do that automagically?
On one email program that I used to use, I would have to change a setting telling it to send the email right away, otherwise it would put it in the outbox and wait until it was told to send it. You can check if there is a setting to tell it when to send email, such as immediately, or at a certain time. The default may be to put it in the outbox and wait.
I just run into the same issue.
Evolution keeps putting outgoing emails into the Outbox folder of On this computer account.
It only send emails when I manually push the Send/Receive button.
Otherwise it will be there for days (usually I never turn off my computer).
Linux Mint 21.2, Evolution 34.4
I expected this last week, so, for years it was working as expected, but somehow it changed and I cannot change it.
You probably didn't realise that you are replying to a thread from 2008 !
I am sorry that I cannot provide you with an answer, but it would be a good idea for you to start a new thread, maybe titled as this one, or perhaps "Evolution not automatically sending mail from Outbox", along with your sensible information as provided above.
This new thread will be shown as having zero replies, which will mean that many more people will read it and perhaps you'll get an answer.
