Evolution Problem

I am using Evolution 1.2.2-5, and I seem to be experiencing a problem. It seems that when I use my pop server with it, it keeps downloading new copies of my mail that I leave on the server every time. It is very frustrating, I did not see a setting that will stop this from happening, anyone else experience this, and know a fix for it.

As long as "leave a copy of messages on server" is checked, evolution will download them over and over again..

Do it the Linux way rather than the Windows way. Use fetchmail (a very flexible mail fetching tool) to fetch your mail from your ISP and let evolution be just a mail client and get it's mail from the mail spool. One tool, one job is the Linux way.

See Linux and the tools philosophy

# Common e-mail tools
sendmail - postfix - sends mail to local users (and internet when configured correctly)
fetchmail - gets mail from internet accounts (non-Hotmail type)
procmail - sorts and delivers into separate mailboxes
mutt - mail client that sucks less than all the others

SquirrelMail web mail
Why use Hotmail when there is LinuxMail?

What Fancy says is true, it is better the linux way. See my sig for a tutorial on setting up Evolution with the great Spamassassin. I haven't seen an x-10 add in a long time...
