Evolution : New mail indicated but, not in mailbox

This one has me perplexed: My "Inbox" folder goes bold to show that I have "x" number of new messages. Yet when I open the folder, no new mail is to be seen. However, if I go to the "Unmatched" Search Folder, the new messages are visible.

This is a pain! Can anybody help me to ensure that new messages can be opened in the Inbox?
