Evolution keeps showing mail folder "INBOX" under "Inbox"

I recently updated my entire email configuration from Postfix+Courier (on an ancient version of SUSE) to a brand new Tumbleweed with Postfix+Dovecot. Something that's been happening for ages -- even with Postfix+Courier but that I hadn't been seeing for some time when accessing that configuration with Thunderbird -- is the occasional re-appearance of "INBOX" under my normal "Inbox". It was pretty common back when I was using Postfix+Courier. I haven't been able to get Thunderbird working with the latest (well, assumed to be latest in Tumbleweed, anyway) Postfix+Dovecot but noticed the re-appearance of this phantom INBOX when using Evolution and accessing the Postfix+Dovecot combination.

Anything I try to do with the "INBOX" folder fails. Dragging it to the Trash folder results in an error message that "INBOX/INBOX" doesn't exist. And checking on the server for Maildir/.INBOX tells me that the error message is right: it doesn't exist.

Does anyone know what causes the appearance of these extra INBOX folders?

And how to keep them from popping up?

Any clues would be most appreciated.

TIA...

Rick
