Evolution Email for Red Hat 9.0

Whenever i try to send/recieve mail by using Evolution Email it asks me for my password and then when i type in the correct password i get an error message that says:

unable to authenticate to IMAP server:
IMAP command failed: Login only avaiable under a layer.

Please enter the IMAP password for aw264701@oak.cats.ohiou.edu.

does anyone know what this means....i'm able to send mail just fine, but i'm just unable to receive it.......

I am willing to bet you are getting your mail through a POP3 server rather than IMAP. So try changing the server type to POP3 and see if it will authenticate then.
