Evolution - download counter is not correct.
 

I have an annoyance that has been with me through many upgrades of my O/S (Fedora 26 as of now). It is trivial, but I would like to know how to fix it.

When Evolution starts downloading messages, the counter in the bottom left of the status bar ticks over as normal, but the number is always 19 or 20 greater than the actual number being downloaded.

I expect there is a configuration setting somewhere, but I have been unable to find it.

Any help with this irritating problem will be most welcome.

There is a not-very-helpful evolution mailing list that handles these types of flaky issues. Or, you can make a bug report.
