Evolution display problem - white fonts on white background
 

Hello!
I started using Evolution lately, was quite alright until recently when the program started rendering labels in a white font thus resulting an unpleasant display in various labels and an unreadable calendar tab (the non chosen, this month days)
A picture attached.
My system: Debian 7 64bit ,i3 3220, using kernel 3.7, Xorg driver for intel HD graphics.
I'd specify package versions of anything you might find related.

problem appears in more programs
 

Forgot to mention - I'm running XFCE desktop on this machine and Compiz (yet the problem appears even without Compiz running).
