There are a number of solutions to this. Here's ONE that has worked really well for me. Linux can run more than 1 session of X. You have 2 people logged in at once, and a quick ctl-alt-F2 or F1 moves between each users desktop. This allows ALL of the other persons "stuff" to be set up like he wants it, and your "stuff" is the way you want it. Again, this is only ONE of many ways.
