Evolution 1.4.6 to Evolution 2
 

Happy New Year All,
I have just switched Distros from Fedora Core 2 to Suse 9.2, I would like to copy my messages to the new Evolution 2, but it looks like the folder structure has changed. Is there a way to get my messages and contact list to the Evolution 2. I believe there is a backup feature with Evolutoin 1.4.6. I will look into it, but any help would be nice.

If I remember correctly, the mails in Evo 1.4.6 are in a folder at /home/[user]/evolution/local/Inbox/. So it should be pretty straightforward to just copy them.

I've just switched from Evolution 1.4.6 to 2.0.2, and all of my information was migrated automatically by Evo 2.0.2 the first time I ran it.

If it doesn't work automatically, the following process should work:
1. close Evo 2
2. open your favorite terminal
3. stop any remaining evolution processes: evolution-2.0 --force-shutdown
4. stop gconf: gconftool-2 --shutdown
5. restart Evo 2: evolution-2.0 --force-migrate
