Evince as a default viewer
Hi,
I made a mistake by installing Adobe Reader on my box. I am a big fan of Evince, the "Document viewer", but I wanted to try this new reader from Adobe. After removing it, my PDF files are not recognized as PDF files any more and each time I double click on one of them I am presented with the "Open With" menu! What should I do to get things back as they were before doing this "Big" mistake? Noha |
Try removing, and reinstalling Evince.
Whenever I try out something new like this, afterwards, I re-run the dpkg-reconfigure script to set Evince as my default PDF & document viewer. I'm not sure, but I don't think Fedora has a synonymous function. |
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I followed your advice and nothing happened, the problem is still the same. By the way, I use Fedora 7, and KDE is my GUI. Noha |
I could do it from the file manager settings (konqueror), I can double click and open them now, but now the files appear as iconless (no icons to represent them)

:)
OK I could solve the problem. Choose the icon for the .pdf (.PDF) files from the propert menu and that's it. Noha |
If you're running KDE, why not install and run Kpdf? It has really nice Konqueror integration.
