evil sendmail
Simple question I think:
When things like cron send emails, they use the root's from-email address. That's the point: it looks like "root@neptune.domain.com". You can imagine I won't receive email when anyone replies to that. That's why I want to know if it's possible (and how of course) to set the from-address of the root account to "mark@domain.com". Thanks alot. Please don't tell me to configure my client, I don't want to! |
It might be easier to configure sendmail to forward all emails SENT to root to mark instead.
|
I set it to forward all mails to root to mark.spam@givemehelp.co.uk.
But, it's about the fromaddress! |
But if someone replies to the root address, then those replies will be forwarded to mark.
|
Yes, but the root address is "root@neptune.domain.com" which doesn't excist. domain.com does, neptune.domain.com doesnt.
