Events get duplicated when syncing treo600 with evolution

After much fighting I finally got my treo to sync with evolution. However every few syncs every event in the calendar will get duplicated. Needless to say this is a bit more than obnoxious.

I am trying to switch from dual booting to a Linux only setup but ditching outlook is a pretty big part of the switch.

Here are some details that may or may not help

Computer: Thinkpad A21p
OS: FedoraCore 3 up to date
Evolution 2.04
PalmOne Treo 600 SW Version:Treo600-1.12INT
Syncing over USB on the built in USB port(1.1). I also have a 2.0 card but I am not syncing on it.

On a (probably) unrelated note my palm also tends to reboot after syncing after a few syncs. It appears that rebooting my laptop fixes this for awhile but I'm not sure if this is just coincidence.
