ethereal and wireless?

Question for y'all...

Why can't I use ethereal with wireless in promiscuous mode?

When I try and start sniffing with my wireless card in promiscuous mode, it no likee, and says "wireless users might want to sniff without promiscuous..."

If this is the case, and I start it without prom. it sniffs, but only my own traffic. This is no fun!!

So, how can I use wireless sniffing?

well ethereal is for sniffing the ethernet data on a connected network, if you're wanting to generically capture wireless data then that'd be more kismet's thing wouldn't it? you won't get results from ethereal on promiscuous mode as it only recieves traffic for it anyway, so there's no other traffic to grab... might be wrong though.
