/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit Segmentation Fault
yesterday, I was trying to uninstall the xmule package in my RedHat 8 distro with rpm -e xmule.
this process die, so I killed with kill -9 later, I restart my machine and I receive this message.. Checking root filesystem / was not cleanly unmounted, check forced. /: 123165/1062880 files (0,4 % non-contiguous), 628852/2124588 blocks [PASSED] /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: line 274: 140 segmentation fault grep –E ‘[[:space:]]+/[[space:]]+’ /etc/fstab Activating swap partitions: /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit: line 339: 159 Segmentation fault grep –iq nomodules /proc/cmdline 2>/dev/null Mounting local filesystem: [OK] Enabling local filesystem quotas: [OK] and here DIE !! there is a lot of segmentation fault message, buy I don't copy all. Any help please ???? |
it would seem like grep is posibly corrupted, best thing is probably to try to reinstall grep from a rescue disk

Hi, I'm newbie also, I 've donwlaoded the grep from gnu.org and I try to install, unfourtonality I can't do this because throw segmentation fault in the "ln" command, so I will try to reinstall ln too.
In a forum I read tha this problem could be a virus, anyone know that ? |
