Errors while Enabling video4linux

I know how this is supposed to be done, but when I do it, I enable it through xconfig, and save those settings. Then I attempt to make modules and it drops a few errors and won't do anything. So I can't build these modules, I don't really know what to do since every instruction assumes that '$make modules' works. Anyways, has anyone had this problem before?

obviously it's not a problem in the current stable branch, maybe if you a) told us what the errors where and b) what version kernel you are having problems with, then we might be able to help you.

Okay, the specifcs are

This is a redhat 8 system, I have done nothing but install the nvidia drivers for the geforce2MX in the rig, it was a fresh install as of yesterday. The errors it drops on a make modules are:
make[2]: *** [dummy.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-14/drivers/net'
make[1]: *** [_modsubdir_net] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.18-14/drivers'

Anyone encounter this before?
