thanks for yr prompt reply. that's all the dependencies error i received. now the million dollar question...how do i install all those dependencies....:) pls help...i am using a acer ferrari one 200 with 4gb ram and 320 hard drive.previously ubuntu 10.10 worked flawlessly with all the programs. no error at all. and i am kind of dependent on gimp. regards sAAd |

sorry josh. same error. i have no clue whatsoever. googled it but no solution. i am helpless. but thanks anyways thanks a lot. if u have any other suggestions do let me know. only google chromium and gimp is not installing. others are ok.

josh thanks again for yr help...but i am really dumb struck...i am using linux from the very begining. experimental basis at first. on/off relationship. last two years using it vigorously. never i hv faced this kind of problem.

Not sure why you're encountering dependency problems. I've been running 64-bit Natty with an LXDE desktop since the alpha release. No problems installing GIMP via synaptic. There's something screwy going on with dependency resolution. I've got libgegl-0.0-0 installed, but not libgtk-3-0. Dependencies listed for libgegl-0.0-0 are:
