Do not expect any of them to work without editing.
That's why we have the tested (edited) examples in blackholeaodv2005-examples-1.tar.gz.

May be you should start from scratch building an ns2 for blackholeaodv ?
* You can have as many versions of ns-allinone-2.xx as you want,
installed at the same time. But do not add any *PATH text to .bashrc →
Not required when it's your computer and you have write access to /usr/.
I.e. you can copy the executable 'ns-<name>' to /usr/local/bin/.

Which OS are you using now ?
a) $ uname -m
b) OS name and version.

The patches are for those two versions.

Which compilers have you got ? GCC version, please.

Building ns2 :
Start with the creation of the new folders (a,b,c) for multiple ns2 :
/home/name/{ a/, b/ ,c/ }

Build examples : 1.
$ cd a/
$ tar xvf ns-allinone-2.34.tar.gz
$ cd ns-allinone-2.34/
$ tar xvf blackhole2013-ns234-patch.tar.gz

** Why not set up a genuine Linux OS ?
In a spare hard disk // a spare partition, or VirtualBox.
I.e. not much help you can get with Cygwin. ( I never use Windows©.)

The cygwin gcc-3.3.1 : Might be too old for ns-2.3x .
Later gcc's ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/so...6/release/gcc/

( gcc/g++ version 4.5.3 should do for ns-2.35 ).


Getting the 32bits Ubuntu 12.04.4 http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ →

→ http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubu...sktop-i386.iso
→ → Burn `ubuntu-12.04.4-desktop-i386.iso´ as an image, to DVD.

Install ns-2.34 : See post #26.
For Ubuntu 12.04, the build command is : $ export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41

"gcc-4.8.3" : Not usable for any ns2 version.
And : You will not be able to build "gcc-4.8.3" on that old Cygwin version.

Linux : Do not build any gcc. The default gcc packages will do.
