Error while loading shared libraries

Very often when I try to run precompiled binaries, I get one of these errors:
  • error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
  • error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any idea how I can fix this?

(Gentoo 1.4b)

get the files.... they're in the libstdc++ package, make sure you have the right version installed. not that i nkow how to do that with portage. but then thinkign abuot it... why are you using precompiled binaries on gentoo? kinda defies the purpose of gentoo doesn't it?

There is no such package, the only package with "std" in its name is amstd (libraries for Ruby).

Not everything is open-source
