error while installing freeswitch on Raspberry Pi

I am trying to build and install freeswitch on Raspberry PI computer in order to use skype and asterisk.

When I run this command - insmod ./skypopen.ko
I get this error- Error: could not insert module ./skypopen.ko: Device or resource busy

I ran 'lsmod|grep snd' earlier and it showed some modules. I used rmmod to remove them. Now 'lsmod' does not show any modules. I still get the device busy error when I run insmod.

How can I fix this error?

$ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.1.9+ #272 PREEMPT Tue Aug 7 22:51:44 BST 2012 armv6l GNU/Linux

I don't know the Rasberry Pi, but it sounds like something has grabbed the sound device. Try inserting the module at boot time by putting the command somewhere in the boot sequence, perhaps in /etc/modprobe.d/ if that (or similar) exists in the RPi.

'lsof | grep sound device' might show you what is using the sound device. Is it input or output?

What lsof command should I use?

root@raspberrypi:~# ls -l /dev/snd
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 60 Sep 5 18:07 by-path
crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 0 Sep 5 18:07 controlC0
crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 16 Sep 5 18:07 pcmC0D0p
crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 1 Sep 5 18:07 seq
crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 33 Sep 5 18:07 timer

dmesg shows this message when I use insmod command-
[ 1686.198495] skypopen OSS driver loading (www.freeswitch.org)
[ 1686.198539] skypopen OSS driver: can't get major 14

root@raspberrypi:~# ls -l /dev|grep 14

Try 'lsof | egrep "by-path|controlC0|pcmC0D0p|seq|timer" . This will show any process that currently is using one of those devices.

By the way, googling for "skypopen OSS driver: can't get major 14" show this http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.n...td7580303.html
