and remember you are using Cygwin
and NOT !!!!!!!! Ubuntu

this is a thread for a ols and ancient version of UBUNTU

Cygwin on MS Windows dose things differently than Ubuntu

YOU will need to change guides to fit the Cygwin environment

posting on a CYQWIN forum would be recommended
