Error: usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ]
Hi, I've reboot one of server from hosted vmware & below error is got at the time of starting:
usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] can we know its being up or not ? |
we have no any information about that server, how can we know the answer?

I have rebooted this VM server & at the time of booting server is giving these error messages. usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] usage: kill [ -s signal ! -p ] [ -a ] pid ... kill -l [ signal ] Here I've attached snapshot for reference. |
There is a script (or probably more) somewhere in /etc/rcX.d/ (X is a number) and that script(s) did not run properly. For me it looks like a damaged environment and you should restore that from your backup.
