error updating glibc on MDK 9.x

okay so here's where i went for the rpm:
"h-t-t-p---rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/1099835/com/glibc-2.3.1-10mdk.i586.rpm.html---"

i got it from here:
"h-t-t-p---rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/15/limit/18/dl/40/pakman/999/com/Gwenole%20Beauchesne%20%3Cgbeauchesne_mandrakesoft_com%3E.html---"

here is my current glibc variables:

glibc-i18ndata-2.2.5-16mdk
glibc-2.2.5-16mdk
glibc-devel-2.2.5-16mdk
glibc-2.2.90-11mdk

error i'm getting:

[root@localhost Documents]# rpm -Fvh glibc*
error: failed dependencies:
initscripts < 6.91-18mdk conflicts with glibc-2.3.1-10mdk
glibc = 2.2.5 is needed by locales-2.3.1.3-7mdk
glibc = 2.2.5 is needed by locales-2.3.1.3-7mdk
glibc = 2.2.5-16mdk is needed by glibc-devel-2.2.5-16mdk

i would just buy a newer distro while i'm at the store tomorrow, but i'll eventually have to figure stuff like this out regardless in the future. plus my modem drivers were a pain in the ass to get setup for my winmodem

upgrade glibc is best done during distribution upgrade
everything is linked to glibc
so change it == change everything
isn't there an apt like thing for mandrake where you can do dist-upgrade

no apparently mandrakesoft has gone to mandriva$oft. so now you they have ANOTHER pay-to-use service called mandrakeonline. and i cant use the old mandrake update or the software sources manager anymore. they closed the servers. so trust me, i'm done with mandrake. i guess they couldnt handle their popularity and being a stand-up company, so they had to switch to being money hungry assholes
