Error trying to update transcode package

Hi all:

First off, let me say thanks to all of you here who work so hard to
help us newbies. It's very appreciated behind this keyboard.

Now to my problem. I'm running KnoppMyth R5A22 (Debian, 2.6.13.2
customized kernel.) I couldn't run the nuv2disc program properly.
Reading the documentation, I figured out that I have out-of-date
versions of transcode and libdvdread installed. So I tried to
upgrade both. libdvdread upgraded successfully, but when I tried to
upgrade transcode, I got:

Can anyone help this newbie to get the package installed
without breaking other programs?

It doesn't automatically detect that there is an old version of the program (bug) and then discovers that there is a file that belongs to the old transcode , so I would say....
remove the old transcode

Code:

apt-get remove transcode

and retry
