error running mirc with wine
I have Fedora installed, with a successful install of wine. I installed mIRC, and attempted to run it. This is what i get:

orare@localhost mIRC]$ wine mirc.exe
err:virtual:map_image Standard load address for a Win32 program (0x00400000) not available - security-patched kernel ?

Anybody have any suggestions?

this is a little bit of a smartass reply...

but how about xchat? you can probably import some of your notify lists and channel menu's by cutting a nd pasting parts of configuartion files.

There are plenty of IRC clients for Linux, so you don't need to use mIRC. I strongly suggest looking for a native-linux app, mostly because of resources and stability

yea, actually, i like xchat a lot. Just really wanted to make the mirc work because i should be able to. I did get it, btw.. was a bad wine install.

All is running now and i'm using it tonight altho i'll probably go back to xchat.

On another note, i use paintshop pro a LOT. Has anyone gotten it to run on linux without a hassle.. or should i just go to gimp?
