Error Message: "No Java Installation Found" - Open Office - BASE

Well, I was hoping that Hurricane Sandy would give me some free time to focus on BASE. The "Open Office" (LibreOffice) database.

Just recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and discovered that BASE no longer worked. I received a couple of error messages, the one that seems to be critical is the "No Java Installation Found". I did locate this post How to Install Java Runtime In Ubuntu 12.04 but that did not help.

I was able to re-connect BASE to MYSQL; by using MySQL Connector for OpenOffice.org. So evidently, these directions appear non-functional because I lack Java??? Connect MySQL and Base.

So how do I get BASE to function, as its own database? I assume that I am missing something with Java?

Yup. It appears to be an issue with the Java version. Not confirmed, but Open Office may not be compatible with Java version 7. So to get it to work, I would have to load Java 6. See the thread I started on the Open Office Forum. Error Message: "No Java Installation Found"

Actually, I overlooked checking the option button in the Java screen.
I made the faulty assumption that the option button was not clickable.
Eventually it dawned on me to check it.

sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jre
Then start the office and call Tools>Options>Java
Click the option button left of the Java entry.
Confirm the dialog and restart the office.(emphais added)
