Error installing Nvidia drivers

Good staff ...
I'm trying to install the NVIDIA drivers on my Ubuntu 14.04LTS, but several things happen ...
1st is too slow (I do not know if it is normal, I have a good machine)
2º- when it reaches the end of the installation gives error
Can anyone help me?

You have to run it from conslole, not gedit.
For console press
ctrl+alt+f1
You have to stop Dm.
cd /home/<user>/Downloads/nvidiaxxx.xx
Then use the nvidia.run file.
