It looks like you need to install the libdnet-dev and the libdaq-dev packages (or whatever you call them in your distro).

# 1 : snort-2.9.3.1-1.F16.i386.rpm is not an original Fedora package.
'libdnet.so.1' is provided by the Fedora 16 package libdnet-1.12-7.fc15.i686.rpm
'libsfbpf.so.0' : No Fedora package.
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/2/simple/2
? Which OS are you using ? ?

# 5 .
Please show the outputs from the commands :
a) $ uname -m
b) $ cat /etc/redhat-release
EL 6 packages https://www.snort.org/snort-downloads
... but no "i686".

If you're using RHEL why not just contact their Support? After all, you're paying for it, right? If you're not paying for it maybe you should be using CentOS if you want to add packages.

...and we're back to "Why haven't you called Red Hat support, since you're PAYING FOR IT?" Did you try reading the Snort documentation, which tells you which packages to install? There is a complete setup guide:
http://www.snort.org/docs
It's for CentOS 6, but should work for RHEL6... IF YOU PAY FOR IT, since you won't have access to the online repositories/packages otherwise. It tells you the package names, and how to get things going. Did you try to look this up?
