Arrow Error in apt-get

Hi,
When i try to install the Mozilla NSS development package, i got the following error. How can i resolve this?

Code:
root@dvm-desktop:/home/dvm/mono/moon# apt-get install mozilla-nss-devel
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package mozilla-nss-devel is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package mozilla-nss-devel has no installation candidate
root@dvm-desktop:/home/dvm/mono/moon#

I think it would be convenient if you could simply launched Synaptic Package Manager and check whether you got the name right in the first place.

Or use the aptitude TUI
Or use bash completion
Code:
. /etc/bash_completion
apt-get install <TAB>
libnspr4 libnss3 libnss-db libnss-mysql
libnspr4-0d libnss3-0d libnss-extrausers libnss-mysql-bg
libnspr4-0d-dbg libnss3-0d-dbg libnss-ldap libnss-pgsql1
libnspr4-dev libnss3-dev libnss-lwres libnsuml-java
libnspr-dev libnss3-tools libnss-mdns

not available

The error is self explanatory, it is not available as a stand alone package in the repositories you have available to your system. You will have to find the package someplace else or you will have to find a repository that has the package and add it to your list of available repositories.

TuxSurfer, is right (spot ) on.

BTW, it would help it you would tell us which of the many Debian- based distros you're using. Then we might be able to determine if there is a solution that won't break things.

Even w/ apt-get sometimes dependencies can't be resolved; the beauty of it is it tells you what's wrong quickly & doesn't break stuff figuring it out.
