Error grub 22
I wanted to give Slackware a try, and I was on openSuse 10.1. Well, I installed slackware 10.2, and while doing so, I used cfdisk to delete all the partitions on my hard drive and create two new ones (one for the swap, and one for /). Everything went through fine with the setup until I tried to boot the computer. When I try to boot the computer it says that Grub gets to stage 1.5, it's loading, and then gives me an error 22.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this, I would even be willing to remove grub (since slackware uses lilo), although I would have though that this was removed when I formatted my harddrive, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks ahead of time.
Nick

Installing Lilo will overwrite Grub. Repartitioning and formatting will not remove Grub from MBR because it's outside of partitions.

Means the grub of SuSE is still working there.
The reason being, you didnt' installed the bootloader of slackwar (i.e lilo) in MBR.
So the solution is to boot the machine using slackware cd and install the lilo into MBR.
after booting from cd
#bare.i root=/dev/hdx? noinitrd ro (supposing you have opted for bare.i kernel)
and hdx? is the partition where your '/' i.e root is.
#liloconfig

I'll give a try when I get home. What's wierd is that the slackware install asks me to install it, and I chose yes, but it didn't write over it I guess.
Anyways, I'll give it whirl when I get home.
thanks.

I didn't install it in MBR because it said it was possibly unsafe. I'm guessing by unsafe they mean that it might not load windows anymore, or you might not be able to boot your other os.
Thanks everyone.
