error: getopt is missing but required.

[notice: I am a linux newbie]

When I try to install a screensaver from linuxhotbox dot com...
I get this error msg:
error: getopt is missing but required.

I am running Fedora Core 3 with KDE. I am not really sure what else you would need to know. Also I don't really know if this has anything to do with it but when I go to change my screensaver all the preinstalled ones are missing. I am not really sure when this happend but now I have no choices as far as screen savers go however the one I have it set to now still works fine.
