Error encountered using partimage in ubuntu

I am a user of Ubuntu Linux. When I tried to save a harddisk partition, using partimage, by typing,

partimage -z1 -f3 save /dev/sda2 /backup/ubuntu-7.04.partimg.gz

I encounter the following error,

Error: sizeof(DWORD) != 4 (8)
This version has been compiled with an uncompatible version of gcc.

My version of gcc is given by,
gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu4)

What should I do? Can anyone help me?
