"Error: Cannot locate Java Runtime Environment (JRE)."

Hello,

I am trying to install matlab.
I follow the instructions: I mount the .iso and then I go into the path to do : ./install

but the following error is appearing:

"Error: Cannot locate Java Runtime Environment (JRE)."
The directory /home/theo/Desktop/matlab/sys/java/jre/gnlx86/jre does not exist.

, but the directory exist!

I searced for that. One thing that I found was if the file is for 32 or 64 bit, but in my case it is compatible..

I have to mention that I am not so familiar with all that stuff..

Thank you a lot in advance..

Theo

You might check permissions... if you are trying to install as root, root may not have permissions on your user's HOME directory.... That's the only thing that comes to mind immediately, anyway....
