Ehm... if the manual compilation doesn't work for you, you could try to install xine rpm-packages. They can be located either on the installation cd (I think, haven't used FC for a loooong loooong time), or they can be fetched from internet somewhere (try
http://rpm.pbone.net/ for example). Then go to the console type "rpm -ivh package_name.rpm" and voila. Install first xine-lib, then the ui-package. You may well get errors telling you that some packages are missing. You'll have to download and install those packages as well.
Though you could also try some other alternative players. Xine isn't really a music player, but more a video player (though it can of course play both). You could give XMMS a try (very similar to older WinAmp versions). Otherwise just google around a bit; search for something like "audio player linux"...
The error itself seems really bizarre to me. Something wrong with FC installation may be?
