I don't know if this will help any, but when I got funkiness after update to 3.02 I received an error prompting me I had some issues with KDE's dependencies. Which then within the same prompt suggested to "rpm --rebuilddb" without the quotes and if this didn't work to check out the troubleshooting section at their site.

In anycase, I gave it a shot and the fukiness went away. Some funkiness examples were menu lost, couldn't launch console, and some other oddities.

If rebuilding your "db" which I believe is your KDE database doesn't help you might want to try an interactive bootup and disable your "DHCP Server". You can enable the server once you get back into KDE.

Seems very odd that your KDE won't even launch just because of network problems? I don't know how your computer(s) are network but perhaps you can recheck all network cables and if you have a hub or router make sure all appropriate lights are active and light for each computer, etc, etc.

I hope this will bring some light towards your way.

Cheers
