Equilizer plugin for XMMS

Hey guys, does anyone know of a good equilizer for XMMS?

Some of my mp3s, particular tracks that are bass-heavy, sound really shitty, like my speakers are blown or something. But the same tracks sound great off a CD. I noticed the Xmms site has lots of plugins..

Can anyone recommend one that would allow me to lower the gain in Xmms? Thanks

I think there is an equalizer included with Xmms.

Right click somewhere on Xmms so you get access to the menu. From there you can select the graphical EQ. There is a preamp there and an EQ for certain frequencies.

Hope this helps

Yes, I've played around with the included Eq. No luck.

You might want to try the Crystality plugin which you can get here: http://fanthom.math.put.poznan.pl/~gyver/crystality/

I just downloaded them both, unzipped them, then did (in each new directory):
$ make install

Only one of them is for xmms, I am just not sure which one.

Anyway, I noticed a fairly remarkable improvement in sound. It isn't exactly an equalizer, but it might help you out.
