Epylog libxml2 error in Debian

I'm running Debian testing, and I used alien to install the Epylog rpm on my system. It installed with no errors, and I've also installed libxml2, libxml2-dev, and xml-core. When I try to run epylog from the console, I get this error:
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/epylog". line 30, in ? import libxml2 ImportError: No module names libxml2
I don't really have any idea how to fix this, so any help would be appreciated, or if anyone knows an alternative log analyzer, I'd go for that too.
