epsxe questions

I am trying to run epsxe. I boot the bios fine but not any cds. I am trying to run Triple Play '99 (original, not a copy/backup).

This is what I do:

in a terminal:
$ ./epsxe

This starts up epsxe. I've downloaded several plugins-- a sound plugin (which works when I boot the bios), a video plugin, and a cd plugin, all from that kindly Pete fellow.

Now, this is what happens when I go to File -> Run CDRom: the epsxe screen enlarges and goes black, and I get these errors in my terminal:

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded from [(path{]
* Init internal cdrom ... ok
CD read toc header failed (25)
* First/Last track: 7 2
* Track 1: CD get track start failed (25)
(AUDIO) - Start 0: (00,00,00)
CD(0,2,16) read ioctl failed (25)
CD(143,23,45) read ioctl failed (25)
CD (143,23,46) read ioctl failed (25)
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Init gpu[0][libgpuPeopsSoftX.so.1.0.15]
* Open gpu[0]
*Init spu[0[[libspuPeopsOSS>so.1.0.7]
*Init spu[0]
CD(0,2,16) read ioctl failed (25)
CD(0,2,0) read ioctl failed (25)

In my config, the cdrom path is currently set as the path to the cdrom plugin. I also tried using /dev/cdrom1 (I want to use my second drive) but that didn't work either.

I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Go into >> config >> config sound and enable all the options there to see what happens. It's necessary for some games
