enlightenment problems

I installed enlightenment 0.16.6(from source).then i changed the options in .'.bash_profile' to execute enlightenment.on the next login, enlightenment started, and there is a menu, among other things.the problem is,there is nothing written in those menus.infact,i cant see any written thing in enlightenment. The comp in which i installed enlightenment is a node in a LAN.and i installed after giving './configure --prefix=$HOME'.(i am only a user in the LAN).I ran wmaker/blackbox before.
please help.
