Enlightenment Compile Imlib2

I have downloaded Enlightenment R16 and I am trying to compile it for the installation. The first time I tried it stated i did not have a C compiler, I had that installed and ran the ./configure again and this time it gets pretty far, then states:

configure: error: Fatal Error: no Imlib2 detected.

I have checked, double checked, uninstalled/reinstalled and updated the Imlib2 files on my installation and still have no luck. What am I missing?

Perhaps it's where you've installed Imlib2 that's the problem? Try configuring Imlib with the --prefix=/usr flag and then run ldconfig as root.
