enlightenment borders gray menus look corrupt


I just installed the latest enlightenment dr16 I downloaded the rpm from enlightenment.org did rpm2tgz then installed the package and after starting enlightenment the borders are gray and the menus look corrupt here's a screenshot

I'm running slackware 10 with 2.6.7 kernel

anyone have any ideas

i know people dislike bumps but i have not been able to fix this however i did install dr16.5 and it works fine however when i tryed dr16.7 again i had the same problem
